Glowing praise for SELRAP and it's members during yesterdays debate from the Rail Minister Chris Heaton-Harris.

The Skipton East Lancashire Rail Action Partnership, which is possibly one of the best action groups I have come across in my short time as Rail Minister, and certainly one of the most effective, I think I had a letter from the group two days after I was announced as Minister, was established in spring 2001 to protect the former railway track bed from development so that it could, in due course, be reinstated.
As I have detailed, and as my hon. Friend the Member for Harrogate and Knaresborough said, former Rail Ministers have met the partnership many times, and I join them in paying tribute to its work over the past 18 years to raise the profile of the case for reinstating the 12-mile link between east Lancashire and Yorkshire.

We are delighted that Skipton to Colne came 1st for rail projects and 2nd overall, which is a very positive view of our proposal.
