SUPPORT FOR SELRAP RESPONSES FROM GENERAL ELECTION CANDIDATES

LEEDS WEST AND PUDSEY

Ann Forsaith (Green Party):

The Green Party is fully supportive of improving rail infrastructure and usage.

Darren Longhorn (Yorkshire Party):

I fully support the reopening of the railway between Skipton and Colne.

SHIPLEY

Sir Philip Davies (Conservative):

This scheme is the epitome of levelling up; it would transform the transport infrastructure across the North and would bring a huge much needed economic boost to some areas in desperate need of economic growth.

Anna Dixon (Labour):

If I am elected on 4th July I would be happy to do what I can to support the reopening of the line.

Kevin Warnes (Green Party):

If elected to Parliament, I will be very happy to support.

KEIGHLEY AND ILKLEY

Robbie Moore (Conservative):

I have always admired the work SELRAP has done to date in relation to the restoration of the railway between Skipton and Colne.

SKIPTON AND RIPON

Andrew Murday (Liberal Democrats):

The addition of the Skipton and Colne line to the local rail network will be very welcome.

Andy Brown (Green Party):

When you think of all the money that was wasted on preparing for HS2 and then not delivering anything really useful, it is a crime that we haven’t already got the Skipton Cole Railway open.

Guy Phoenix (Heritage Party):

The restoration of the Skipton to Colne Railway is absolutely key for rejuvenating local businesses and local attractions, as well as providing access to commuters in the towns and cities across the region.

Keith Tordoff MBE (Independent):

The restoration of the rail line between Skipton and Colne will be a priority with the huge benefits associated with the successful delivery of this service.

PENDLE AND CLITHEROE

Andrew Stephenson (Conservative):

As a Patron and longstanding vocal supporter of the campaign, SELRAP can count on my own ongoing support.

Jonathan Hinder (Labour):

After years of talk, it is now time for action, and I would be an outspoken advocate for this project.

Anna Fryer (Liberal Democrats):

I support the campaign by SELRAP.

Lex Kristan (Green Party):

I am aware of the restoration project and would like to offer SELRAP my full support on behalf of the Green Party in Pendle and Clitheroe.

BURNLEY

Antony Higginbottam (Conservative):

The Colne-Skipton rail line would be hugely beneficial for the East Lancashire economy, and I will continue to do what I can to support the scheme.

BLACKBURN

Tommy Temperley (Reform):

It is a must to get the green light on this; people need this form of transport either for work or else as a tourist.
